Payment

The Barking Barber accepts cash and/or bank transfer (direct credit).

Grooming Duration – arrival and collection

The length of your dog’s groom depends on the size and breed of your dog.  I will provide an estimated time when you book your appointment.

Please make sure you are on time to your appointment and to collect your dog.  I will text you when your dog is ready to be collected and I would appreciate you arriving within 30 minutes of receiving this text message unless prior arrangements have been made.

Satisfaction Guarantee

The Barking Barber will strive to provide a positive grooming experience with your beloved dog.  If you are not satisfied with the service or finished style, please inform me within 24 hours and I will do my best to address your concerns.

Matted Coats

This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain.

The health and condition of a dogs coat and skin are the responsibility of the owner (along with its physical and psychological state of health.) Professional grooming plays an important role in the commitment undertaken when choosing any breed of dog.

The Barking Barber firmly believes  grooming should be an enjoyable experience and will not put your dog through the discomfort of unnecessary de-matting. If the matting is minimal and the dog responds well, then the dog may be brushed out for an extra fee. If the mats can’t be removed promptly or I feel your dog is in pain, I will not continue and will therefore need to clip short/shave. I will notify the owner before commencing. There is a greater risk of nicking, scratching, cuts etc to a matted dog during the grooming process. In addition, the skin may appear red, itchy and irritated due to the lack of oxygen reaching in and under the mats.

Accidents and emergencies

Although accidents are very rare, there is a risk when handling dogs. In the event of an emergency, the dog owner authorises The Barking Barber to immediately seek professional veterinarian attention at the West Melton Vet Centre, contact 03 347 4546, at the same time notifying the owner.

Fleas

The Barking Barber requires your dog to be undertaking regular flea and worm treatments. If I find a dog to have fleas, I will treat it with a flea wash for an additional $15. The owner will be notified before the treatment is given.

Social Media

At the Barking Barber I use Facebook.  The Barking Barber reserves the right to take photos or videos of your dog.  If you do not want your dog posted on social media, please inform me and I will respect your wish.

Pick Up and Drop Off Service – Gainsborough, Wilfield and Preston Downs Subdivisions

For a flat fee of $15 The Barking Barber will collect your dog from your home and return it after it is groomed.

Arrangements will be made for entry to collect the dog and a photo will be sent to the owner when the dog is delivered home safely.  The Barking Barber may transport your beloved dog in a vehicle or walk on a lead depending on the day and the owners preference.

The Barking Barber reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions of service without prior notice.

Thank you for your understanding and for choosing The Barking Barber.
